Bookstagram can be a money pit if you let it. Flowers. Bookish merch. Special edition books. It’s easy to feel like an outsider if you’re not spending big money. This is your reminder that you don’t need to spend any money (or even ‘big’ money) to make your account look fabulous.
Here are a few super cheap items to make your account look great.
I’m not going to lecture you on why you should make your Bookstagram account more accessible. Instead, I’m going to give you 5 really easy ways you can make your account more accessible so you can reach more people! Start doing them now or slowly break your old habits and start new ones.
The best thing about bookstagram is can be as inexpensive (or expensive) as you want it to be. You can run a beautiful account with library books & gorgeous outdoor space. You can also run a gorgeous account with special edition books in your personal home library. Most of us lie somewhere in between the two extremes.
After being on bookstagram for many years, I’ve spent money on various props and borrowed items from people for photos. In the end, I’ve it narrowed down two items that I love and use for almost every single photo and am happy to have spent the money on them.
If you’ve been around my blog for any length of time, you might have noticed that I love being helpful. Sure, I write reviews & talk about books but I also post other things that I think are helpful. Guides to bookstagram. Information about book boxes. Etc.
Well, I’ve had an idea rolling around in my head for a while and decided to post it.
I’m in many different book circles online. I frequently see new people discovering the bookish part of the internet. These new people are discovering they actually enjoy reading, finally have time for reading, or are readers finding their people on the internet.
Whatever the case, they love reading! But have a lot of questions about books, bookish websites, where to buy those gorgeous special editions of books from, etc, etc, etc.
I tried to tackle some of those most frequently asked questions on the page. I know there are likely more questions so as usual it will be updated when I have time & encounter new questions.
SO, if you’re a casual reader who is curious about the online book community, this page is for you. Active readers, maybe a friend stumbled across your bookstagram account and is curious about what you do, share the page with them. Maybe you have someone that comments on your booktok about how to get started, this page is for them.
I’ll be playing around where to exactly display the page on the blog but the page will be around for those who need a little help.
