Recently book boxes (specifically FairyLoot and Illumicrate) have been releasing special editions of (YA) older series. The books are older so tend to be out of print or tricky to find. The box releases a new edition with exclusive cover and are offered signed or not signed.
Obviously, book lovers are loving it. I haven’t been able to snag any yet. Between the choices, selling out quickly, or the price point, it wasn’t meant to be yet. I’m here to dream a little bit and put out my wish to the universe to make these happen.
Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness
I was really hoping the movie would shine more light on the series but that hasn’t happened yet.
Unwind Dystology by Neal Shusterman
This series is pretty messed up but still pretty great. I need more people to to read the series. Plus I would really love a nice edition of the books.

Fire and Thorn Series by Rae Carson
This series got a new installment (& new covers!) after seven years. Once again, I was hoping to see more people in the bookish community jump on the series.

Seven Realms Series by Cinda Williams Chima
If you love court politics with some romance in your fantasy, you’re sure to enjoy this older YA series. The original covers are okay but could do with a makeover. I’d love to see more people loving this series.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I would love to see a special edition of the series. It would be a bloodbath attempting to get them though. I’m sure that’s why no one has attempted it yet.

Jackaby by William Ritter
A huge majority of the bookish community is sleeping on this series which is a real shame. It’s a beautiful mix of Sherlock and Doctor Who. I seriously can’t understand why it’s not more popular.
What series do you think needs the special treatment?

A super fun post, I love this concept so much Alison! I’m not much of a special edition book collector, but I can see the appeal in older, harder to find titles, especially more underrated ones getting a unique edition. Though this one is more popular, I think Good Girl’s Guide would make a great one because it can be influenced by the mixed media element to make it look interesting! I’d also love for Ally Carter’s books to get special editions (her books need to be read more!). I haven’t read Girl Of Fire & Thorns, but I agree, the covers always left me intrigued to read it. 😌💖

This is a GREAT list. Girl of Fire and Thorn is one of my favorite YA series ever. I haven’t read the series by Cindy Williams Chima yet, but now I definitely want to! I think Fairyloot did a box set for An Ember in the Ashes, but I wasn’t able to get it. I keep hoping to find that in a box set in bookstores someday. 🤩

I haven’t read all of the An Ember in the Ashes series but FL’s edition is definitely drool worthy.

Yes! It’s a shame we don’t talk about Jackaby more! It’s fantastic and the perfect mix of fantasy and mystery, I’d love to see it in a book box!
