September’s box will include a throw blanket!
The book this month is STELLAR. Love the colors on it. The sleeve is great.
The rest? Not so much. When did Owlcrate become Office Supply Crate? 3 of the items being stationery based is an odd & heavy handed choice. Not everyone has an office or is a student so half the box being office supplies is not great.
I’m starting to think that the curator’s style isn’t for me. I may need to start skipping boxes until a new curator comes around or she’s let go. Perhaps Owlcrate should consider offering a book + pin option since shipping is getting to be expensive for everyone.
I understand that it’s going to be hard to pick & design items for a box that’s been going on for 5 years but this last year has been pretty rough. Too many of the items are pretty basic & dollar store quality.
September’s theme is Written in the Stars. You can see my prediction for Septembers’s book boxes here.

I was debating getting this box, because I knew the book was going to be Star Daughter and it was going to be beautiful, but the push pins seem a little odd.

The pins aren’t really my taste. They’re not even bookish or cute. 😐

Yeah pins aren’t really my jam, I never know what to do with them.

A clip board is such a cool idea! I don’t subscribe to a boxes usually because of budgeting reasons, but sometimes I also think, “Eh, I don’t need another candle or literary tea.” I love with they include unique useful things instead!

It’s defiantly unique! I just don’t know what to personally do with it.

I feel the same way! I wish they would decrease the amount of office supplies they’re including. I recently finished with my studies so these items aren’t really useful for me…

Exactly! Plus many adult don’t have “office” jobs so these items are really not helpful.

The theme is so pretty! But I definitely agree some of those items seem a little strange? I’ve always been hesitant to sign up to boxes like this in case I don’t like most of what I get 😳

Yeah, not liking the items is always a big risk. Owlcrate has been pretty good at sending great items (even if I don’t know or like a fandom). This year has been quite a few misses though under the new curator. 😕

Hmm… I’m not sure if I’m really feeling this month’s box although I also wasn’t too crazy about the last two boxes either. I loved the books–they’re all gorgeous, but the items themselves weren’t exactly “wowing” me. I feel a little underwhelmed with what I’m seeing here and it’s definitely making me reconsider since international shipping is crazy expensive now! Great unboxing though 🙂

With that hike in international shipping I think they’re going to lose quite a few subscribers. A couple of these items are easy to buy on Amazon so it makes it REALLY hard to justify spending so much on such meh products.

I agree with you. I think that stationery gadget are useful and lovely, I would use it, but not everyone can do it. I would like to see more useful things bit differents among them and not cheap ones; I hope that this items are in low quality because of the mails delay. Also yes, a only book sub as illumicrate will be great!
