Time for a traditional best books of the year post! These are the best book I read this year. They weren’t necessarily published in 2019.
Complete with pictures and links for your convenience to add to your TBR.

January
To Best The Boys by Mary Weber
To Best The Boys was a delightful standalone. If you love Audrey Rose from Stalking Jack the Ripper, you’re going to like Rhen.
February
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
The Bear and the Nightingale is such a cozy Winter read. Adult fiction is slower paced than YA fiction. It takes a while to get used to but is worth sticking with.
March
Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I still can’t believe I got an ARC of this. It’s no surprise that I loved it.
April
The Strangers by Margaret Peterson Haddix
I love MPH’s books. I devoured this in an afternoon.
May
Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne
Science fiction and Jane Eyre? Yes, please.
June
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
I ended up liking this more than Caraval.
July
Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
I love a good murder mystery so the additional fantasy elements were fantastic for me.
August
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Neal is a twisted genius.
September
The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
This was a pleasant surprise. It also kicked off my Sarah Dessen audio binge.
October
Dead Voices by Katherine Arden
I definitely prefer Katherine’s MG books to her adult books. Perfectly spooky.
November
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware
I love a good mystery so this was delightful. I ended up working my way through her entire back list this year.
December
Changeling by William Ritter [review to come]
Fun fantasy and wonderful tones of family and love.

Love the format of this post! I’ve been wanting to read The Bear And The Nightingale but I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews

[…] I couldn’t narrow it down to one favorite book for 2019. I mixed it up and picked my favorite book for each month. […]
