Hurrah! We’ve reached the first Friday of 2019. Time to celebrate with the first Friday Favorites hosted by Kibby from Something of the Book. Basically she’s got a list of topics here and on Friday you post on your blog (or bookstagram) about the topic. Easy enough, right?
Today’s topic is First Book in A Series

Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Cinder features everything I love in my YA books: fairy tale elements, humor, and science fiction.
I will admit that when I read it the first time, I wasn’t immediately smitten. I continued through the series and fell in a little more in love with each book I read. Here we are a couple of years later and I can easily say that the Lunar Chronicles are my favorite series.

Jackaby by William Ritter
One of the things that drives me nuts about book blurbs are the lofty comparisons they make. I know I was skeptical about the Doctor Who and Sherlock comparisons I saw.
For once, the blurb was spot on! Jackaby is a fast-talking, arrogant, slightly oblivious, smart mouth. Does that sound like anyone we know?
Add in the mystery and paranormal elements and it’s no surprise why I love this book.
Yay for Jackaby! I cannot wait to continue that series! And this is the year I FINALLY READ CINDER! I swear I’m going to do it, Alison! Thanks for joining in on Friday Favorites!!
